GPS is a Global Positioning System invented by the U.S(United States). It is a satelite based on navigation system made up of a network. The U.S placed 24 of those satelites into the orbit. The first one was sent to outerspace in 1978. It works 24 hours a day and it works in any weather conditions. GPS can calculate speed, track, trip distance, distance to destination, sunrise, sunset time and more. GPS is extremely accurate. It sends signal information to earth. GPS receiver uses this information to locate GPS users(their exact location). These satelites are traveling at 7000 miles per hour around earth.

Navigation receivers were made for aircraft, ships, vehicles, and for hand carrying. Now handphones and many other devices can have a GPS in it. It is a very important thing that we should have if we are traveling. Now you can get them for between $100-$1000.

I think in 10 years this technology will still be use, but maybe the U.S will improve the materials of the satelite to make it better and more accurate.

How Technology Works?

Question #1 – How is technology used in education? (overall)
Technology is used in education in a lot of subjects. For example:Computer and science. In these subjects, when the technology gets better, the way we learn that subject is going to be much easier. In computer for example, apple is now inventing new things to make education easier. IMac especially, is used for making musics and videos. For people who is studying how to make video, using IMac is one way to make their education easier.
Question #2 – How do you personally use technology in aiding your learning at NJIS (during school, homework, etc)?
I use internet and laptop a lot of time, which really help because by using internet we can find any information we want.
Question #3 – Does technology improve your education or create more complexity (therefore becoming a negative aspect)?
Yes, because by technology anything we do will be much easier.
